P402 Surveying of Buildings for Asbestos

Objective

The aim of the P402 Surveying of Buildings for Asbestos course is to provide the background, knowledge and practical skills to carryout surveying in buildings for asbestos containing materials and incorporates sampling methods and procedures required to minimise any exposure during bulk sampling.

Delegates will gain a thorough understanding of the current legislation and the tools and knowledge required to identify and record asbestos in buildings along with an understanding of managing all known materials.

Pre Course Requisites

Delegates enrolling on this course are expected to be aware of the contents of The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and in particular the supporting Approved Code of Practice L143 Managing and Working with Asbestos and The Survey Guide HSG264


Advice on pre reading material will be issued to delegates prior to the course commencing.

Duration

3 days classroom based with written and practical assessments with a final written British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) exam.

Outcome/Qualification

Upon successful completion the delegate will achieve a Proficiency Certificate in Management of Asbestos in Buildings (P402) issued by British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS)
