Mavis Nye Foundation Launch
Thursday 7th December, is the launch of the Mavis Nye Foundation, a charity set up to support victims of mesothelioma, a terminal cancer caused by asbestos exposure. It will be held in the Richmond Hill Hotel in London.
Mavis was diagnosed with mesothelioma back in 2009, and given only months to live. Now, in 2017, she has since set up her own charity to support mesothelioma sufferers, after fighting the disease for eight and a half years. After successfully responding to a clinical trial, Mavis is now in remission and giving hope to other mesothelioma victims across the globe.
The charity aims to send a message of hope to those who’ve been diagnosed with mesothelioma, and other asbestos-related illnesses. This hope extends to making financial and emotional support available to mesothelioma patients, creating awareness and better access to treatments, and funding grants to push research in the UK, for the treatment of illnesses brought about by asbestos exposure.
